The 5 Best Vacuum Sealers Tested & Reviewed

Vacuum sealers are incredibly useful to have around if you often have the need to store food. For the short or long term, in airless bags, your leftover foods can last 2 to 3 times longer—dry foods such as nuts and grains even much longer—compared to conventional, non-airtight methods. The best thing is a good unit only takes seconds to seal up a bag and can do multiple ones back to back without fail. Not to mention the benefits of sous-vide cooking and other advanced applications that you can achieve only with vacuum sealing.
Out of curiosity, we’ve decided to buy 13 of the most popular sealers on the market to test them out and see if they're really all what they say they are. As expected, every model has trade-offs, even the most all-round vacuum sealers. The immensely successful Nesco VS-12 Deluxe, despite being almost perfect in every other front, is not the best choice for juicy foods. The Anova Precision Pro is, in contrast, much more convenient for beefsteaks and sous-vide cooking but not as robust. And something affordable like the Inkbird Plus, while delivering reasonably solid functions, has less durable details and fewer features.
Everything We Recommend
With its powerful suction, intuitive control panel, and LCD progress tracking, this sealer can efficiently deal with most common foods. It also boasts some of the most impressive build quality that cement its popularity on the market. Although pricey, it's a worthwhile investment for daily or occasional use.
It's an all-round product that's sleek-looking and convenient for daily tasks. From storing leftover foods, juicy or dry, to advanced prep work like vacuum sealing beefsteaks for sous-vide cooking, the device is straightforward to use, perfect even for those who have never touched a vacuum sealer before.
Despite the affordable price, this sleek and compact sealer efficiently seals both dry and moist foods, with a removable drip tray for easy cleaning. It’s easy to use thanks to its simplified, straightforward control panel and a great choice for occasional users. Its space-saving design is perfect for those with limited counter space, too.
The vacuum sealer is a good option if you want a compact sealer that gets the job done. While flawed, it stands as a great solution for the price range that won't take up much space on your countertop. User reviews are filled with praise for its impressive abilities, especially its speed and efficiency in creating airtight vacuum sealing.
This sealer is the newest version of the tried and true VS6621 model. It takes all that makes the older version so popular, including the affordable pricing, compact design, and user friendly operation, and adds a couple of new features that extends its automatic functionality. It's certainly not the best money can buy, but the product is in a league of its own.
How We Test
Our evaluation process of vacuum sealers revolves around their functional performances, the quality of their builds, and the overall user experience. Basic tasks, such as sealing dry foods for storage, and advanced prep works, such as sealing beefsteaks for sous vide cooking, are all in consideration for the assessment process. Usability and build quality are our other primary focus points as we examine how the make of components and features affects each model’s ability to complete said tasks.
Specifically, performance wise, we evaluate using 3 different tests

- Suction Strength: in this test, we measure the products' vacuuming capacity in kPa and time the duration of their cycles. Each product gets 2 chances and the one with the better readings is scored.
- Crunchy Food Breakage: this one highlights the products' ability to preserve crunchy food items. We prioritize using the Gentle/Soft setting on the sealer for the best results.
- Beef Sous Vide: the task of prepping for storing/vacuum cooking particularly drives this test. Each product has 3 tries in total to produce an effective seal, operating in Moist/Wet for the first 2 attempts and in "manual" for the final.
Finally, to optimize our data, we standardize the process across the board for every product. Standardization prevents our process from losing focus while ensuring that all recommendations are completely unbiased.
Why We Don’t Test Fruits and Vegetables: After numerous attempts, we've determined that vacuum sealing vegetables and fruits for refrigerating holds no advantages over the normal ways. The process often destroys the structural integrity of the foods, leading to worse storage conditions. This is the main reason why we discarded the test in our final methodology.

How We Choose
The following table shows the products' scores inferred from our evaluation process and scoring devices. To ensure that our opinions are relatable and well-informed, we also take into account long-term durability, maintenance requirements, and factors like whether the brand is reliable or providing thorough warranty service. Cost efficiency is the major deciding factor in our process to highlight economically sound investments for homes.
Nesco VS-12 Deluxe Vacuum Sealer
Best to Buy
With its powerful suction, intuitive control panel, and LCD progress tracking, this sealer can efficiently deal with most common foods. It also boasts some of the most impressive build quality that cement its popularity on the market. Although pricey, it's a worthwhile investment for daily or occasional use.

Things We Like
- Strong performance
- Well-built design
- Intuitive control panel with an LCD screen for progress tracking
- Comes with a bag roll compartment and bag cutter
Things We Don’t Like
- Doesn’t come with a chime
The sealer is among the strongest units we've tested. As our data shows, it can yield up to 80 kPa of suction strength and consistently produce tight vacuum. Its operation takes a little longer on average compared to the others on the list, however that's partly how the sealer avoids crushing crunchy food such as corn flakes. For prepping something juicy like beefsteaks, we've noticed that the manual workflow on the sealer works much better than its automatic one.

The Nesco scores very high on build quality. It looks solid, feels sturdy, has convenient buttons and screen to show you what's happening, and a lid that locks securely with a handle. The body frame is mostly constructed using quality plastic and the metal plating on top makes it even more durable against physical impact. This unit received a perfect score on our benchmark and has quickly become a standard that we unconsciously use to measure the others.
Additionally, the team finds it easy to use because the buttons are clearly labeled, and the timer on the screen makes it easy to track progress. Safety warning stickers around the heating bar, which can get hot after a few cycles, are clear and helpful. Even though it has powerful suction, it's not really louder than other sealers we've examined. Inside, it has a place to hold the bag roll and a cutter for cutting bags, as well. There isn't a notifying chime, but the sounds of the lock disengaging and a small hiss of air rushing into the chamber would signal that the sealer had finished a cycle.
Although it costs more than the average vacuum sealer on today's market, the Nesco VS-12 is undoubtedly one of the best you can find for your money. Not only does it deliver reliable sealing, but it also boasts a robust build and a range of built-in convenience. Yet, despite its numerous functions and buttons, it's surprisingly user-friendly.

Anova Precision Pro Vacuum Sealer
Best for Sous-Vide
It's an all-round product that's sleek-looking and convenient for daily tasks. From storing leftover foods, juicy or dry, to advanced prep work like vacuum sealing beefsteaks for sous-vide cooking, the device is straightforward to use, perfect even for those who have never touched a vacuum sealer before.

Things We Like
- Powerful performance in the dry test
- Suction is strong but can be gentle
- Rated for liquid
- Sleek, elegant design
- Comes with extra features (bag compartment and cutter)
Things We Don’t Like
- Relatively dim indicator lights
- Doesn’t come with a chime
- Doesn’t have bag hooks
This Anova Precision Pro Vacuum catches your eye with its sleek black plastic design and streamlined details. But most importantly, it shines in terms of performance.
The vacuum sealer excels in suction strength, cranking up to 67 kPa (the second highest in our database) with ease. The best thing about this sealer is how easily it handles prepping juicy beefsteaks for sous vide and moist foods in general. It also fares impressively well with crunchy food, quickly delivering sufficient sealing while avoiding crushing the content.

It simply makes sense that the Anova stands out among the many, many choices the market has to offer. It's well-built, simple to operate with one hand (thanks to the handle lock), and features a user-friendly control panel with just a few buttons. It also has a convenient compartment that holds plastic bag rolls and an integrated cutter.
While the product is constructed mainly using plastic components, it doesn't come across as cheap in any way. The elegant all-black design blends matte texture with glossy sheen, creating a high-end, futuristic appearance. Looking closer, from exterior to interior details, everything appears and feels well-crafted. Plus, the durable locking mechanism has been reliable since the day we get it out of the box even after all the testing, which is always a good sign. You'll find non-slip feet as well as a handy slot to put away the power cord neatly, making it even more convenient.
All in all, the Anova Precision Pro is easily the top 3 best vacuum sealers we've had our hands on, especially considering its reasonable pricing. And judging by its build, we have little doubt that it will last a long time with minimal maintenance needed. That's a worthwhile product, if you ask me.

FoodSaver Compact Vacuum Sealer
Best Under $100
Despite the affordable price, this sleek and compact sealer efficiently seals both dry and moist foods, with a removable drip tray for easy cleaning. It’s easy to use thanks to its simplified, straightforward control panel and a great choice for occasional users. Its space-saving design is perfect for those with limited counter space, too.

Things We Like
- Decent performance
- Beautiful design for the price
- Convenient storage lock
- User-friendly control panel
- Has a removable drip tray
Things We Don’t Like
- Doesn’t have many extra features
The FoodSaver Compact VS-0100 is a powerful vacuum sealer with ample suction strength and a time-saving cycle, at 62 kPa and 11 seconds. Its simplified control and effective design works great for sealing juicy beefsteaks, helping everything feel effortless. That said, its relatively forceful operation, although performs well with dry food items like nuts or grains, is not ideal for crunchy items as the breakage test reveals.

In general, our reviewers are impressed with the design and build quality of this Foodsaver. With a metallic top and a sleek, modern design, it’s quite hard to believe this cost less than $100. The control panel is minimalistic but clearly marked and user-friendly. The robust lid includes a unique mechanism that prevents accidental openings and, most notably, the sealer comes with a removable drip tray, which makes vacuum-packing moist, juicy food safer and more convenient.
Our team also really likes how easy it is to use and handle the sealer. Steps such as feeding the bag and working the lid feels smooth and effortless. The motor noise (approximately 78 dBA) is acceptable and consistent with competitors. However, it lacks an audible alert when cycles finish, a slight drawback typical for a vacuum sealer in this price range.
All things considered, the compact Foodsaver VS-0160 is worth checking out for its straightforwardness. It doesn't come packed with features, but it's incredibly easy to use and offers satisfying, reliable real-life performance.

Inkbird Plus INK-VS01 Vacuum Sealer
Best Mid-Range Pick
The vacuum sealer is a good option if you want a compact sealer that gets the job done. While flawed, it stands as a great solution for the price range that won't take up much space on your countertop. User reviews are filled with praise for its impressive abilities, especially its speed and efficiency in creating airtight vacuum sealing.

Things We Like
- Excellent performance for the compact size
- Takes up very little space on the countertop
- Decent build quality throughout
- Comes with a built-in cutter
Things We Don’t Like
- Cheap-looking design
The Inkbird Plus INK-VS01 is the most surprising find out of the group, delivering remarkably strong performance for how affordable it is. As our data shows, the sealer is on par with models twice its price in terms of suction strength, at 63 kPa. It also avoids crushing crunchy foods nicely with smartly designed cycles, which at the same time helps with handling beefsteaks and other juicy food.

For a sealer with such performance, this Inkbird Plus has a very compact build, which is perfect if you don’t have a lot of countertop space. While the sealer feels slightly cheap here and there, all its components are solid, and there are no poor signs suggesting poor design. However, its lack of extra features is a downside, albeit understandable given its humble size and price tag.
All that said, the sealer could be easier to use with some improvements, especially when closing the lid with one hand. Aligning the bag and sealing it can be challenging due to the narrow vacuum channel and compact size. This led to some sealing issues during our tests. On the bright side, it's safe and quiet.
If you're combing through the market for something that doesn't cut deep into your pocket but delivers reliable sealing, this Inkbird Plus INK-VS01 definitely fits the bill.

MegaWise 2 Powerful Vacuum Sealer
Best Budget Pick
This sealer is the newest version of the tried and true VS6621 model. It takes all that makes the older version so popular, including the affordable pricing, compact design, and user friendly operation, and adds a couple of new features that extends its automatic functionality. It's certainly not the best money can buy, but the product is in a league of its own.

Things We Like
- Highly Affordable
- Decent build quality comes included with a built-in bag cutter
- Excellent ease of use
- Clearly visible safety signs and stickers
Things We Don’t Like
- Mainly plastic construction
- Lid action could use improvement
One thing that has obviously been improved from the previous version is the vacuum process. This 2025 version apparently "sucks harder", peaking around 43 kPa as opposed to the 34 kPa of the old VS6621. And also according to the tests, it is also much less noisy. Although the timed cycles are roughly the same length, this is a clear improvement from the engineering front.

Design-wise, the sealer boasts a somewhat stylish appearance—for a vacuum sealer, at least—and strikes a balance between affordability and quality. It's compact, so it won't clutter your countertop, and it’s very easy to use. Furthermore, it includes a convenient bag cutter. But many of the details are thin and made of plastic.
While the construction materials of this model may not be stellar, it shines in terms of usability. It has multiple settings that easily take care of common food items so even first time users can easily get stuff done. The manufacturer is also vigilant with their safety stickers, making them effortless to spot.
The biggest drawback our team found is that it can be challenging to operate with just one hand. However, for what it offers regarding sealing performance, noise level, and overall build, the Megawise 2025 Vacuum Sealer is solid for the price range.

Honorable mentions
- Potane VS2690: This sealer is another solid option if you are not particularly fond of the Foodsaver VS-0100. It costs less than $100 and has very nice overall build quality. But it doesn’t do well with wet foods, particularly with juice beef cuts.
- Nutrichef PKVS18BK: For roughly the same price as the Inkbird Plus INK-VS01, our team also really enjoys this sealer. It boasts a different design and feels easier to get used to but has slightly poorer suction and fewer features.
- Bonsenkitchen VS2100: This is another solid budget-pick with a proven track record. It’s still a current best- seller on Amazon and supported by reassuring reviews. However, it is a more basic sealer with fewer features than the Megawise 2025.
