Panasonic FlashXpress Digital vs Oster 6 Slice Convection Toaster Oven Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
The small Panasonic FlashXpress Digital Toaster Oven (NB-G110P) lost to the large Oster 6 Slice Convection Toaster Oven (TSSTTVMNDG-SHP-2) in our evaluation. However, it may surprise you that their overall scores don’t differ much.
Despite the size difference, the two toaster ovens have similar design scores. Both units have interior lights and crumb trays.
Usually, a toaster oven with a convection system would have a significantly higher design score than one that didn’t. However, the Oster’s lower build quality dragged the whole thing down.
The Oster has a thinner casing and less responsive buttons than the Panasonic. However, Panasonic’s control panel also has some flaws. It has a few distinct cooking presets that are typical in a Japanese appliance but its timer and temperature range aren’t very detailed and expansive.
The Oster’s larger cooking chamber makes putting food in and out and also cleaning afterward easier. Meanwhile, the Panasonic’s auto-pull racks limits the space of its already-small cooking chamber.
In terms of our performance tests, the Oster has slightly higher scores in all of the foods thanks to its higher power draw and convection system. To top it all off, the Oster actually costs slightly less than the Panasonic.
