Best Touchless Kitchen Faucets of 2024 Buyer’s Guide & Reviews

Best Touchless Kitchen Faucets

It’s hard to resist the idea of touchless faucets. For one, things will get a hundred times cleaner since minimal contact with the handle is required to get some water running. However, these are often expensive and we all want our money well-spent, so making a decision is often daunting. After spending quality time with over a dozen kitchen faucets, we believe our recommendation could help you decide.

First, think about whether you want motion or touch control. On one hand, models like the Moen Arbor MotionSense have motion sensors that activate water by detecting movement—a dream upgrade for any cook who’d like their faucet spotless. On the other hand, something like the Delta Leland Touch2O offers a different kind of experience with touch control, still minimizing contact with the hand.

Touch activation is effective and feels worth the money, not to mention the solid quality of Delta Touch2O faucets, but some still prefer the true “touchless” experience of motion control.

If You Still Hesitate – Here’s Why You Should Get a Touchless Kitchen Faucet Right Away

  • It’s just so convenient. And I have never met a single person who could not agree on that. I mean, who doesn’t want to skip those twisting, pushing and shifting maneuvering when both of their hands are busy, for example, holding a big pot.
  • It’s a win-win for clean and safe. You can prune down that course of actions of spreading grease and germs from your hands to all over the places before reaching the rinsing part. It’s not only time-saving but also hygienic. Fewer bacteria in the kitchen space also equals safer food preparations. Can this be any more obvious?
  • No more worries about water dripping and leaky hoses. Especially when you’re in a hurry, the risk of wasting gallons of water the whole day is totally wiped out now.
  • And finally, a futuristic, eye-catching design. Needless to say, right? An automatic tap will always bring to your kitchen a look of elegance and fabulosity.

Moen Arbor 7594ESRS Pulldown Kitchen Faucet

Best Motion Control

For a true touchless experience, this model is one of the best even by today's standards. With two motion sensors, premium build quality, and convenient features, the design brings plenty of utility to the kitchen and is worth checking out.

Moen 7594ESRS MotionSense Faucet to Buy Review
What We Like
  • Smart sensors that can be abled/disabled easily
  • Long self retract hose
  • Beautiful timeless design
  • Spot resistant finish
  • Easy to install
What We Don’t Like
  • Head filter could be prone to clogging (filter is removable though)
  • Pricey

As far as motion sensor faucets are concerned, Moen is always the first name that comes to mind. Its top-notch MotionSense technology is no doubt a clear cut above others, and at the same time, its elegant designs are also without decent competitors.

I mean, take a look at the 7594ESRS, the plumber-recommended BIFL. It's quite clear why the model is one of the best kitchen faucets of 2024.

ONE SUPER SENSOR. OR TWO

This famous Moen automatic faucet comes in two versions.

The single sensor version features a MotionSense ready sensor, which is placed near the root of the faucet. It turns the water on when a pot or a hand is detected under the tap, and immediately off as you pull away. The double-sensor version, meanwhile, has one extra wave sensor on its neck - you get to control the flow with a wave of the hand.

If you choose to disable the sensors, water will be controlled with the manual leverage. Don’t worry too much about grease: the whole faucet is made of metal, coated with a shiny Spot Resist stainless steel finish that keeps little to no traces of oil, fingerprints, rust, corrosion or watermarks.

Forgetful and often find yourself worrying about leaving the faucet running at home? The 7594ESRS is set to turn itself off within 2 minutes if no motion is detected.

A SELF-RETRACTING HOSE

Have a big pot or a tall vase that needs filling? The Moen 7594ESRS is a pull-down with a 68-inch long hose. The head retracts itself back once released, even at full extension.

This pull-down feature is super handy for cleaning the sink itself too, which, if you have ever tried cleaning a large double sink, you will definitely appreciate it. The strong but splash-free PowerClean rinse also helps when there’s some stubborn grease on the dish or the sink.

QUICK, EASY INSTALLATION

No professional plumber needed - no appointment, no wait, no payment. Because you can actually do the installation by yourself. Without tools. Even with no experience in plumbing.

Because 1) the set comes with everything included (you’ll probably feel a bit overwhelmed when you open the box), but thankfully 2) once you’ve calmed down, the instruction manual is super straightforward.

Of course, a plumber can never hurt, but if you know how to put a nut on a bolt, there’s a high chance you can set it up all by yourself.

BUT IT’S NOT PERFECT

Not sure if it’s a downside to this top-notch faucet, but Moen incorporates a mesh into the spray head, which filters the larger sediments in your water. This could affect the flow rate after a while with all the build-up of dirt.

You can remove the mesh to clean it or install an undersink filter or whole house filter to purify the water.

Or to get your super flow back immediately, simply remove the filter mesh.

Delta 9178T-AR-DST Single-Handle Touch Kitchen Faucet

Best Touch Control

With touch control, temperature-indicating LED, and premium construction, the faucet is a solid choice for those who enjoy a high-end experience. Its elegant design, magnetic docking, and long, extendable sprayer head further explain the faucet’s popularity.

Delta 9178T AR DST Automatic Kitchen Faucet Review
What We Like
  • Touch to activate
  • LED temperature indicator
  • Reduced splatter with ShieldSpray
  • Works on batteries or AC adapter
  • Pull down faucet with long hose (54″)
What We Don’t Like
  • High price

Having touch sensing mechanism instead of motion sensors, the Delta 9178T-AR-DST is not technically touchless, but actually a very hands-free faucet. And it’s a real deal with excellent performances thanks to the multiple quality features including the Touch2O touch-tech, anti-splatter spray mode and magnetic docking. That is why customers consider this particular Delta to be among the top pull-down kitchen faucets.

IT KNOWS IF YOU’RE TURNING THE WATER ON, OR ARE PIVOTING THE SPRAY HEAD

It does, because the sensors are designed to distinguish between a quick touch or a grab, with accuracy to the milliseconds.

And yes, those sensors will react to the brush of your cat’s tail. But don’t worry too much about an accidental activation when you leave him or her home alone: the faucet will turn itself off after 4 minutes if no further contact is detected. Unless you’re a bad servant and your cat deliberately wants to destroy the house, flooding should never be a concern.

90% LESS SPLATTER

Like most other modern faucets, the Delta 9178T-AR-DST comes with 2 standard water modes: spray and aerated stream, and a Delta Faucet exclusive anti-splash spray mode: ShieldSpray.

When this mode is on, the water is pressured out of the head in a “shield” around the pressurized straight stream, hence the name ShiedSpray. This not only increases the area coverage but also significantly minimizes splattering, which makes cleaning a thousand time less troublesome. The genius that designed this deserves a medal if you ask me.

You really have to look to see how it works, so here’s a video (at 0:20).

A TOP-NOTCH USER EXPERIENCE

This Delta hands-free faucet has it all: a beautiful design, a diamond-embedded ceramic disc that minimizes if not eliminates leaks, compatibility with both 1 hole and 3 hole mounting, and an escutcheon plate included to cover any spare holes for a flawless look.

Then they also incorporated into it an LED light that changes color when water temperature changes, making sure you’re always aware when the water is hot. And because they know some of us are simply too lazy for batteries, they give us an option to run the tap with an AC adaptor.

KOHLER K-72218-VS Sensate Touchless Kitchen Faucet

Best Kohler

Utilizing motion control with a cleverly located sensor, this expensive faucet is a blend of premium design and high-tech features. Its magnetic docking, together with outstanding finish and craftsmanship, also adds to its appeal.

Kohler K-72218 VS Sensate-Touchless Kitchen Faucet Review
What We Like
  • Quick response sensors
  • Magnetic docking technology to lock spray head
  • Lifetime limited warranty
  • Stable flow rate
  • Simple installation
What We Don’t Like
  • Very pricey
  • Water pressure may deteriorate in time

If you’re a fan of Kohler (which many people who know a thing or two about faucets are, for that matter), chances are high that you will fall in deep love with the K-72218-VS.

A FUTURISTIC DESIGN

The Kohler K-72218 features a unique modern fixture, with a tube from head to base, a lever, and a smooth finish all over. No cheesy details. Personally, I prefer the subtle sensationality of the Moen 7594ESRS, but if you’re a minimalist, you will probably favor this kitschlessness.

Released in 4 different elegant shades: vibrant stainless, vibrant stainless with black accents, polished chrome and polished chrome with black accents, the K-72218 is as sleek as a state-of-the-art faucet can get. The patented MasterClean Surface means the finish is not only about looks: it’s also resistant against mineral build up.

A SENSOR THAT WORKS IN MILLISECONDS

Responding to a motion and turning on the water within only 20 milliseconds, the Kohler sets its position as one of the fastest motion sensor faucets on the market at the moment. There’s hardly ever a wait - you place your hands or a pot or anything that needs filling under the sensor on the neck, and water comes out immediately.

The icing on the cake is that the spray head itself is also made to respond to sensors, which definitely deserves a shout out. I’m surprised this is not the standard of all handsfree pull-down faucets. I mean, how else are you going to turn the water on and off repeatedly with the hose fully extended?

A 26 INCHES LONG HOSE

Not that the hose is exceptionally long. In fact, it’s not even half the length of the Moen 7594ESRS.

But at 26 inches, it’s more than sufficient for most if not all kitchen tasks I can think of. Cleaning the huge double sink? Check. Filling the grande steaming pot on the countertop? Check. Playing spraying with your partner? Check. Watering the oak tree in your backyard? Maybe not, but that’s not what it’s for anyway.

The spray head retracts itself when released, and there’s a magnetic dock to keep it in place.

BadiJum Touchless Kitchen Faucet

Best Budget

This affordable kitchen faucet delivers hands-free operation and adequate build quality at a reasonable price. Its motion control, combined with a spring neck and extendable sprayer head, provides greater flexibility around the sink.

Badijum Touchless Kitchen Faucet High Arc Single Handle Review
What We Like
  • Long hose (63 inches)
  • Lead free interior
  • Duo sensors for extra convenience
  • Affordable price Easy installation
What We Don’t Like
  • Looks basic

When it comes to touchless faucets, most of the time the higher price the better. But is it possible to take advantage of the fancy tech without breaking the bank? You bet.

At half or one third the price of a Delta or a Moen, this BadiJum is a cheap and a decent hands-free kitchen faucet at the same time.

DESIGNED TO LAST A LIFETIME

The BadiJum has a very pragmatic design, with a simple tap body and a lever for both hot and cold water. You can install it on either a one-hole or three-hole mounting, and there’s a deck plate aka escutcheon included for extra modesty.

While it won’t receive too many compliments for the look, both of the two finish options (chrome and brushed nickel PVD) do give the faucet a sleek, modern feel to it. Plus, the quality does make up for any weaknesses in appearance.

First, its interior is NSF certified lead-free brass. Second, the handle has a high-quality ceramic cartridge that can be turned on and off continuously for 500,000 times. You don’t even need the handle to turn the water on and off, remember? If you turn it say 20 times a day, the ceramic cartridge would take roughly 70 years to wear off.

I haven’t used one long enough to testify that, but I guess I can’t really complain.

DUO MODE SENSOR TECHNOLOGY

Despite its competitive price, the BadiJum is not any lesser-endowed than any other faucets on the market. It comes with a 63 inches long hose, allowing you to fill the biggest pots and the tallest vases.

When sensors are regarded, it comes with not one, but two to maximize convenience.

Surprisingly, the thing has a sensor on its spray head. Water starts coming out as soon you pull the hose out and stops once the head is pulled back. There’s even an instant pause button so you have more control of the timing.

EASY INSTALLATION

This badiJum is no doubt one of the easiest to install out there. Its patented mounting nut is designed in a way that allows all the hoses and cables in with ease. Besides, the battery system and the magnetic valve are saved inside a compact waterproof box, which can be secured with a click connection.

For less than $200, the BadiJum definitely offers more than one can expect and deserves our vote as the best budget kitchen faucet to buy in 2024.
