Wingsol Faucet (WS-FM001-PAC) vs PUR PLUS Faucet (FM2500V) Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
The Wingsol WS-FM001-PAC has plenty of value to spare. For a very affordable price, you get a faucet-mount filter with a stainless steel housing and — according to the ad — a very capable filter cartridge that can take out most major classes of harmful chemicals that could be in your tap water.
But does it live up to expectations?
The Wingsol WS-FM001-PAC’s filtering performance is worse than most.
In the chlorine filtering test, while it removed most of the chlorine in the chlorinated water we pumped through it, there’s still a trace amount of the chemical left behind that our water test kit picked up. Because of this, the Wingsol is one of just two models in our database with a chlorine filtering score lower than a perfect 10.
As a result, while the Wingsol WS-FM001-PAC is a functional filter, it has the worst value out of all the other models in our database. The only good thing about the filter is the durable stainless steel housing.
On the other hand, the PUR Plus FM2500V has a perfect chlorine test score. But in return, it failed our filtering flow rate test with a measured flow rate of just 0.3 GPM. So, even though it’s safe to use if you want to have fast-flowing water in your kitchen, the PUR FM2500V may not be a good choice.
Unlike the Wingsol, the PUR faucet-mount filter is made from plastic. As a result, it may not last as long as the Wingsol and may be more prone to breakage. But PUR has had a great track record of building quality and long-lasting filters so far, and we didn’t find any issue with the filter after weeks of testing.
So, while the PUR is pricier and doesn’t work quite as quickly as the Wingsol, it should make for a far better purchase in general.
