Overall Verdict

While DuPont is a household name, Wingsol is a new player in the water filtering industry. But that hasn’t stopped its flagship faucet-mount filter, the WS-FM001-PAC, from being one of the most popular models on the market.

So, how does it compare to the Dupont WFFM100XCH?

Surprisingly, a fair bit better!

The Wingsol didn’t do well in our chlorine filtering test. While the DuPont WFFM100XCH was able to remove all traces of chlorine from the highly-chlorinated water that we pumped through it, there’s still a trace amount of chlorine in the water sample we took from the Wingsol. It’s not high enough to be detectable without using a water testing kit like we did, but it left us doubting the Wingsol’s true filtering ability.

The Wingsol made it up with a great result in our second test: the filtering flow rate test. We mounted both models to a high-flow faucet (2.2 GPM), then measure how fast they can produce clean water.

The Wingsol is the third fastest-working filter in our database with a flow rate of 0.9 GPM. The DuPont WFFM100XCH has a very slow flow rate in comparison, at 0.46 GPM. In fact, not only was it slow, the DuPont also failed the test due to having a slower flow rate than our minimum threshold of 0.5 GPM.

As such, if you’re looking for a filter with fast-working filter, the Wingsol should make for a better option than the DuPont.

In terms of build quality, the DuPont this time has an edge. Though it’s built from chrome-plated plastic, all of the parts on the filter are well-built. On the other hand, despite being made from durable stainless steel, there are many parts on the Wingsol filter that seem crude. For example, the flared cap of the Wingsol’s filter compartment looks very shoddy, according to our reviewer.
