Today, the brand is a recognized force in the category, setting a strong standard for modern home appliances. In this review, we take a closer look at the Shark UltraCyclone and explore what it has to offer.

6.8 Performance

The UltraCyclone Pet Pro CH951 offers decent suction and performs well on flat surfaces like tabletops and floors. It is also relatively effective at cleaning car seats and footwells, handling larger debris like snack crumbs and fresh pet hair with ease. However, it struggles on uneven upholstery and cushiony seats, often leaving behind noticeable dust streaks and residue.

In terms of battery performance, it stands out among competitors in its class. The vacuum provides approximately 13 minutes of runtime on a full charge and takes only a couple of hours to recharge. Its ability to quickly top off after cleaning sessions is a distinct advantage over competitors.

6.0 Fabric Chair Cleaning

In roughly two minutes in total and two different tries, it managed to clear about 90% of the seat. While it handled the crushed cornflakes and pet hair well enough on the surface, it lacked the raw power to pull fine particles like flour out from deep within fabric textures. Only when we applied more pressure manually in the second minute that the vacuum could clean deeper into the seat.

The vacuum struggles with fine particles like flour, which easily settle into the pores of leather upholstery; it cleared only 70% of the car seat and left visible streaks behind. It performed significantly better in the footwell, achieving 90% cleanliness on the carpet, likely thanks to the flat surface.

The vacuum operates continuously for 13 minutes on a full charge, which is fantastic. Recharging from zero takes merely 2 hours and a half and a quick 5-minute cleanup session only takes about an hour to charge back up to full.

The UltraCyclone Pet Pro is a fantastic-looking cordless handheld vacuum that captures the modern aesthetic beautifully with its use of see-through plastic. It features a motorized brush specialized in dealing with pet hair and employs a triple-layer filtration system to protect the motor. It also nails the feel of premium integrated module design.

However, the quality of the materials is questionable, at the very least. And while the quick-release door technically works, the spring-loaded tab can be annoyingly stiff both when opening and closing up the bin.

With the vacuum comes a charger, a user manual, and a couple of utility extensions, including a motorized pet brush, a crevice tool, and a scrubbing brush.

Dimensions

Compact enough to slide easily into a standard cabinet, this vacuum balances size and practicality well. It does claim a bit more shelf space than an ultra-sleek model like the Shark WandVac, but it avoids feeling clunky or cumbersome. 

7.5 Build Quality

The vacuum looks like a premium model thanks to its stylish design and streamlined details. The smooth guiding grooves and satisfying snap joints between the body and nozzle certainly hint at high-quality craftsmanship. 

However, poor durability has been the topic of many customer reviews stating that the nozzle is prone to cracking from accidental impacts or from pushing attachments on too forcefully, which is incredibly disappointing for the price point. The quick-release mechanism also leaves room for improvement because while functional, the spring-loaded latch can be frustratingly stiff during both opening and closing.

8.0 Utility Features

Featuring single-speed control with a simple press button, the vacuum keeps operation simple. The built-in LED indicator shows charging status—blinking while plugged in and turning solid when full—and flashes rapidly to warn of a low battery. 

9.0 Filtration Quality

To trap dust and protect the motor, the vacuum uses three filtration layers. Notably, the hard-plastic pre-filter is built right into the dust cup rather than the filter unit itself, blocking large debris like snack crumbs. Behind it, sitting directly in front of the motor airway in the inner compartment, is a two-piece filter assembly consisting of a thick foam pad and a cloth layer.

Motor Module

The vacuum isn’t known for its power. It yields decent suction that can easily pick up cornflake crumbs or dust on hard surfaces, but it often struggles with fine residue especially on fabric upholstery or carpets. Additionally, it’s noticeably noisier than the others we’ve tested.

Dirt Compartment

For something of its size, the vacuum’s bin has a fairly limited holding capacity, but it’s not too bad for quick sessions. It also features a quick-release door to swiftly empty out dirt and debris so it still manages a rather comfortable experience.

Nozzle

The nozzle/airway of the vacuum is part of the dirt bin, which is very convenient for cleaning, and its utility can be extended with the included add-ons. Unfortunately, the nozzle is where all the complaints about durability spawns because it apparently breaks just from pushing in the add-ons a little too hard.

Filter Module

The vacuum’s filtration consists of the pre-filters in the dirt bin and the filter assembly. The assembly makes use of a layer of foam filter and another of cloth filter. All elements of filtration in the vacuum are 100% washable and reusable. However for optimal cleaning performance, the filter assembly should be changed periodically in 6-9 months.

Charging Adaptor

In terms of charging, the vacuum’s adaptor complies with global power grids ranging from 100 to 240 V, which is a must for traveling. And the cord extends 72 inches long.

The Pet Pro includes standard utility attachments like a crevice tool and an upholstery brush, but its stand-out feature is a multi-purpose motorized pet brush designed for versatile cleaning across hard floors, flat surfaces, and cushioned seats. However, unlike most, it lacks a dedicated duster brush.

8.2 Usability

Despite its actual heft, the Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro remains surprisingly comfortable to hold during extended use. Its minimalist design, balanced weight distribution, and ergonomic handling prevent wrist strain and significantly minimize hand fatigue.

Maintenance is equally simple. The dirt bin features a quick-release mechanism for hassle-free debris emptying, and because both the bin and nozzle separate completely from the motor module, they can be safely washed without risking damage to the electronics.

8.0 Ease of Use

This is a straightforward cordless cleaner which features a highly versatile motorized brush attachment that handles everything from hard floors and plush cushions to contoured car seats. Though a 13-minute battery life seems short on paper, it provides ample time for quick vehicle touch-ups and can last through a couple of days of spot-cleaning on a single charge. However, keep in mind that using the pet brush does drain more charge.

8.0 Handling

The vacuum is surprisingly easy to handle for its weight class and it delivers maneuverability through a well-balanced weight distribution that ensures comfortable handling. Although the handle design is fairly basic, its ergonomic angling and positioning reduce hand fatigue during extended cleaning sessions.

8.5 Maintenance

Aim the bin over a trash can and press the release latch to swing the bottom door open for a quick empty. For a deeper clean, the entire dirt compartment slides out easily for removal. Every component, from the nozzle to the filter assembly, is fully washable, and the filters separate effortlessly to rinse clean under running water in seconds.
