Regarding our performance tests, the Cuisinart TOA-60 consistently produced excellent results thanks to the oven’s steady and stable temperature. Although the Toshiba AC25CEW-BS performed better than most small and large toaster ovens, stood next to the former it just pales in comparison. It does have more unique functions though.
The simplistic but more sturdy design of the Cuisinart uses more durable materials. This, however, adds to its weight and size — taking up a bit more countertop space than the Toshiba. Although the Cuisinart has a completely analog control, it doesn’t lose points in terms of timer and temperature precision.
While the Toshiba has a better ventilation system, the Cuisinart has a stronger convection system and an interior light. The Toshiba has three tray levels and 4 nichrome heating elements while the Cuisinart has two tray levels and 6 heating elements.
The Cuisinart is built with a slide-out crumb tray while the Toshiba has a removable one. Besides the standard accessories, the first one has an extra air fryer basket while the second one further has a rotisserie kit and a rack clamp.
Neither scored particularly well in the ease of use department. Nonetheless, neither have any severe problems in that regard.
The Cuisinart TOA-60 is a straightforward, robust, effective, and lasting toaster oven that earned our trust as the best medium-sized unit. On the other hand, the Toshiba AC25CEW-BS, of the same size category, gives you more bang for your buck with a well-constructed oven and accessories.
