Mueller 4 Slice vs Oster 6 Slice Convection Toaster Oven Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
Comparing the Mueller 4 Slice (MT-175) to the Oster 6 Slice Convection Toaster Oven (TSSTTVMNDG-SHP-2) brings out some of their interesting strengths and weaknesses. As a small and a large unit respectively, their overall scores don’t differ as much as their sizes.
In terms of design features, the Mueller lacks the convection system and interior light that the Oster has. It does, however, have a detachable crumb tray that’s more suitable for a small unit whereas the Oster has a slide-out one. The Mueller’s analog control dials are precise but the oven doesn’t display the exact timer and temperature like the Oster.
The most impressive aspect about the Mueller is its performance, tying with the Oster and boosting its overall score all the way up. The Mueller was actually better at toasting bread—our most crucial performance test—despite a lower power output.
The Oster was better at baking pizza, roasting whole chicken, and baking fries thanks to its convection system and higher power draw. Regardless, the Mueller didn’t fall too far behind in the pizza and chicken tests.
