Overall Verdict

The Instant Omni Plus 18L Air Fryer Toaster Oven is a slightly cheaper medium size while Breville Smart Oven Pro (BOV845BSS) is a large, both with premium design and usability. The deciding factors distinguishing our pick for the best air fryer toaster oven and just a decently good unit, however, are all in their performance.

Although both have a convection system and the same power draw, the Omni Plus was able to better maintain temperatures and more evenly distribute heat. This was possibly due to it having an extra swirl nichrome heating element as opposed to the Breville having only quartz heating elements.

In addition, the Instant further has a rotisserie kit and an air fryer basket to cover more cooking methods, unlike the Breville. As a result, the Omni Plus had higher scores than the Breville in every cooking test, including toasting bread, roasting whole chicken, and baking pizza. Moreover, its air frying fries results were actually the highest in our of our tested units.

Of course, the Breville isn’t without its strengths. Its digital display is just as informative and its button controls are just as intuitive as the Instant’s touchscreen. Furthermore, the Breville is actually easier to clean thanks to the non-stick coating of its interior as well as its accessories.
