Overall Verdict

As a fully hands-free kitchen faucet, the Moen Arbor MotionSense 7594E has always been an interesting option. Having water run without touching the spout not only allows for higher usability, but also helps keep the faucet clean. When you pair that with high-quality construction and eye-pleasing design, you have the Arbor 7594E.

That said, the faucet is quite expensive for the average home. It also lacks a tight sprayer-body connection and a 360-degree rotation, as the spout can only swivel 100 degrees. Such quirks of the faucer’s retro design don’t really affect its function considering the flexibility of the pull-down sprayer, but you can see why the newer models are designed differently.

Things We Like

  • Quality build
  • Easy to clean
  • Motion control
  • Two sensors

Things We Don’t Like

  • High-cost
  • Limited swivel

Offering durable construction, quality features, and a true touchless experience with two different types of sensors, this faucet should be an appealing option to anyone. Drawbacks concerning the faucet’s water control, limited swivel, or power reliance may deter you from buying, but the faucet is a well-crafted piece of work nonetheless.

5.0 Performance

The Moen Arbor, as with other compliant kitchen faucets, doesn’t work too well with low water pressure. If yours is anything lower than 40 psi, rinsing is going to be much less effective. FYI, at around 37 psi, the button on the sprayer won’t even work properly. If you have low pressure, there are more suitable choices on the market.

Compared to something like the Kohler 596 Simplice or Wewe A1001L, the Arbor 7594E is slower by roughly 0.7 liters per minute.

9.2 Design

As far as faucet design goes, the Moen Arbor MotionSense 7594E is both familiar and unique. Its solid construction and elegance make it an attractive option for those who enjoy decorating their homes with high-end fixtures. Certain drawbacks, such as the loose docking of the sprayer and the limited swivel of the body, do affect the faucet’s usability. However, this is still a high quality fixture with motion activation, which is tough to beat.

Unlike some other faucets, the Arbor 7594E comes mostly disassembled. The sprayer head, main hose, and body are separated. Although that may intimidate those who aren’t handy and are new to installation, it makes the installation process more transparent. If you’re willing, the user manual provides all the information needed to complete the setup yourself.

The faucet has a smooth but limited 100-degree rotating body that we prefer over the spring-neck spouts that have been popular on the market. With a full spout like the Arbor, it’s much easier to keep clean.

The faucet's seamless look is easy on the eye and should blend in with any modern kitchen decor. The Arbor 7594E also has a lovely finish collection, including Chrome, Spot Resist Stainless, Matte Black, and Oil Rubbed Bronze.

Out of the many kitchen faucets we’ve examined, the Arbor 7594E ranks among the top three in terms of button quality and design. The way the function buttons are flush with the sprayer makes them easy to access with our fingers while holding the sprayer. This is especially appreciated by those with smaller hands. That, and the buttons are well-made.

9.0 Build Quality

The faucet’s design and build quality is on par with its high cost. With thick plating and quality material, the faucet feels well-crafted when you hold it. In terms of control, MotionSense works seamlessly once it is properly set up. The handle also moves smoothly as you turn the water on or off or change the water temperature.

One thing that doesn’t sit well with us is the faucet loose docking. This is due to insufficient weight on the main hose, resulting in a janky connection where the sprayer meets the body.

8.6 Usability

The Moen Arbor 7594E stands out as a fully hands-free kitchen faucet. Besides the benefits of a detachable, flexible sprayer, it offers distinctive utility with motion-activated control, allowing you to access water easily without touching and giving you more freedom around the sink.

Moreover, the faucet is highly intuitive to install, despite the extra electronics. Moen deserves credit for making the design DIY-friendly, saving homeowners from needing to hire technical help. That said, the limited body rotation is a drawback as it hinders customization.

8.8 Sprayer

In addition to stream and spray modes, the faucet features a boost function that increases output pressure. This allows for a stronger rinse than the normal spray. The faucet also automatically switches back to the stream mode whenever the water is turned off and on again. Although it’s a minor detail, knowing for certain that the spout will stream water is a plus for those who often fill small containers, like a glass or a bottle.

The sprayer itself is well-made and well-polished. The use of the ball joint introduces much flexibility to its movement, and the comfortable design of the buttons enhances the overall experience. Though admittedly, the Reflex feature could use a bit more weight.

9.0 Control

Moen’s MotionSense technology adds much value to an already solid kitchen faucet such as the Arbor. The feature gives homecooks more ways to go about their routine around the sink. Also, the auto-shutoff feature helps prevent issues from accidental activation.

The biggest downside to the motion sensing feature is its power dependency. If the control box—more accurately, the batteries—runs out of juice, the faucet becomes 100% inoperable. To counter this, owners can buy the AC adapter or keep an eye on the LEDs (inside the sensors), which will blink blue when the battery voltage is low.

7.5 Installation

Moen Arbor 7594E Touchless Kitchen Faucet Installation

The Moen Arbor 7594E has one of the easiest installation processes involving electronic accessories. Moen’s famously simplistic design has always been a big plus for us DIY folks, and it’s the same case here. If you’re not easily overwhelmed by disconnected parts, the faucet needs only the included tool to mount. The quick click-connection and the clip-on hose weight genuinely make the steps feel accessible, even to those who aren’t exactly handy.

Nonetheless, the spout’s limited swivel is its biggest drawback as you can’t position the handle in the direction of your liking.
