Moen Adler Standard High Arc Pulldown Kitchen Faucet Review
Overall Verdict
With a compact build and top-notch craftsmanship, the Moen Adler has always been an appealing pull-down kitchen faucet for small homes. It features an extendable sprayer head and a 360-degree rotating body, making any action that requires water feel easy and hassle-free. The faucet feels “premium” thanks to its polished details and smooth movements across the board.
The function switch may be awkward to use at first; however, it serves its purpose. Nonetheless, the faucet’s metal build, from head to handle, and durable valve cartridge ensures long-lasting service. Most importantly, it’s not at all expensive considering what it’s delivering. That’s why the faucet is currently our favorite and best-to-buy recommendation.
Things We Like
- Quality build
- Easy to clean
- Affordable
Things We Don’t Like
- Awkward function switch
- DIY-friendly installation
This sleek-looking pulldown faucet is a minimal yet well-designed piece of fixture. Enjoying a straightforward installation process and high-quality craftsmanship, the faucet should be worth every penny, especially considering its lack of any major drawback.
5.0 Performance
The Moen Adler, similar to other ASME/CSA compliant kitchen faucets, doesn’t work too well with low water pressure. Under 40 psi, rinsing is going to be much less effective. With this particular faucet at around 37 psi, the function switch on the sprayer won’t even work properly.
5.0 Low Pressure
The Adler 87233 is slower by roughly 0.5 liters per minute when compared to the Kohler 596 Simplice, which has a similar build.
8.0 Design
As far as faucet design goes, the Adler’s elegance and minimalistic look makes it an attractive option to any home. Certain drawbacks, such as the loose docking of the sprayer and awkward leveling of the rocker switch, do affect the overall experience. Regardless, this is still a high-quality yet affordable product, which is tough combination to beat.
In the Box
- Moen Adler 87233
- User manuals
- Mounting accessories
The Adler comes mostly disassembled, not unlike many Moen faucets. The sprayer head, main hose, and body are separated. Although that may intimidate those new to installation kitchen faucets, it makes the installation process more transparent. The user manual provides all the information needed to complete the setup yourself. You should also refer to our installation guide video.
9.0 Body Design
The faucet has a smooth, fully rotating body that we prefer over the spring-neck spouts that are quite popular on the market. It’s just much easier to keep clean. The Adler's seamless look is easy on the eye and should blend in with most modern kitchen decor. It comes in several finishes including Chrome, Matte Black, Mediterranean Bronze, and Spot Resist Stainless.
7.0 Sprayer Design
The quality of the function switch, though not excellent, should suffice and doesn’t feel cheaper than those on more costly options. That said, the strange leveling of the switch can be a turn-off for many as it doesn’t feel good to use, affecting the user’s experience. The lack of indicators for the water modes is another thing to look out for, but this is remedied by the faucet’s having a default mode.
8.0 Build Quality
The faucet’s design and build quality is on par with its cost, with smooth swiveling and balanced handle movement. Thanks to the faucet’s smaller build, it saves cost mostly because of less material used in construction, which means the quality itself is unaffected. That’s why the faucet feels premium on hands, enjoying dense and polished metal details, while not costing a fortune. Additionally, Moen’s valve cartridges are known for their durability and availability.

7.4 Usability
The Moen Adler 87233 is a strong choice if you want simplicity and functionality. Its sleek, full-body design is easy to clean and maintain and its non-restricted, flexible pull-down sprayer are undeniably useful to any kitchen. Moreover, the faucet’s setup is optimized for DIY-friendliness with few components and cleverly designed details to save effort and time, making it one of the easiest processes we’ve seen.
8.0 Sprayer
In addition to stream and spray modes, the faucet also automatically switches back to stream mode whenever the water is turned off and on again. It’s a minor detail, but is very useful to those who’d like to keep their sink area dry and clean. At 23 inches, moving the sprayer feels non-restrictive and it should reach corners of normal sinks comfortably. The use of the ball joint provides much flexibility to every movement, and although the button can use some improvements, it’s still effective.
6.0 Control
There’s nothing special about the faucet’s single handle, especially when compared to others with electronic controls. However, the quality is outstanding, reflecting in its well-weighted movements. As a result, the handle can be considered a strong feature as Moen’s valve cartridges are long-lasting and very easy to find for replacement.
8.8 Installation
The Moen Adler has one of the easiest installation processes we’ve examined. Moen’s simplistic design has always been a big plus for us DIY folks. Don’t be discouraged by disconnected parts as they require only a few extra minutes. The faucet itself needs only the included tool to mount, supported by quick click-connection and clip-on hose weight which make everything feel effortless.
