KOHLER Simplice 596-VS PullDown Kitchen Faucet Review

Overall Verdict
The Kohler Simplice 596-VS is a simple, sleek-looking pull-down kitchen faucet that blends modern aesthetics with everyday practicality. Its minimalist design features a 360-degree swivel spout and a multi-purpose sprayer head with boost function, further enhanced by a ball joint and magnetic docking for a unique experience.
Refined details add to its premium feel, while the careful construction from spout to handle promises lasting durability. Offering a lifetime warranty, competitive pricing, and a well-rounded feature set, the faucet stands out as a smart, reliable choice in the mid-range category.
Things We Like
- Quality build
- Easy to clean
- Affordable
Things We Don’t Like
- Lightweight
Combining functional design with clean, minimalist lines, this faucet performs reliably across the board. Built from high-quality materials and engineered for hassle-free installation, it offers excellent value with no major drawbacks.
6.0 Performance
The Kohler Simplice, similarly to most standard faucets, works best around 55 psi. Under 40 psi, the spray force does go down a little, but it’s operable nonetheless. In general, the faucet isn’t too bad nor is it for less-than-ideal scenarios.
6.0 Low Pressure Test

Approximately, it delivers 0.2 to 0.3 fewer gallons per minute compared to more appropriate choices such as the WEWE Commercial Style Faucet or the Kraus Bolden KPF-1610.
8.3 Design
When it comes to faucet design, the Kohler Simplice stands out with its elegant, minimalist aesthetic—making it a seamless addition to almost any kitchen. Practical touches like magnetic docking and Boost mode enhance everyday usability, adding convenience to routine tasks. While its thinner plating falls short of high-end premium models in terms of durability, it does help keep the overall weight light and manageable.

9.0 Body Design

The faucet features a smooth, fully rotating body, which we prefer over the spring-neck, commercial style spouts. It's significantly easier to clean and maintain. With its sleek, minimalist design, it complements a variety of modern kitchen decors. Available in several finishes—Chrome, Vibrant Stainless, Matte Black, and Brushed Brass—it offers versatile style options to suit most preferences.
9.0 Sprayer Design

Designed for ease of use, the sprayer head boasts a durable rocker button that effortlessly switches between stream and spray modes and a toggle button for the pressure boost function. The sprayer fits comfortably in the hand, even for smaller grips thanks to its compact size. The high-quality buttons offer a satisfying, tactile response, enhanced by their rubberized finish for added control.
8.0 Build Quality

Made from high-grade materials with a durable finish, the faucet has a solid, well-built feel. While the thin body plating doesn’t impact performance, it raises some concerns about long-term durability. The control handle functions smoothly, providing precise adjustment of both water temperature and flow. The body rotates effortlessly, offering stable, seamless motion during use.

7.5 Usability
For those who value both practicality and sleek design, the Kohler Simplice 596 delivers. Its minimalist, full-body construction is not only visually pleasing but also incredibly easy to maintain. The pull-down sprayer, though modest in length, offers impressive flexibility and versatility, while the magnetic docking ensures a secure and precise fit with every use. Plus, the faucet’s intuitive installation process makes setup quick and hassle-free.
8.5 Sprayer

At 18 inches, the sprayer’s reach is the shortest we've measured. However, the ball joint where the hose connects provides added flexibility, offering greater freedom of movement during use. The magnetic docking feature ensures a secure and reliable connection every time.
5.6 Control
Though the faucet's single handle lacks the technological flair of touchless models, its craftsmanship is unmistakable. The well-balanced, weighted glide provides a refined, satisfying movement, making it a standout feature in its own right.
9.5 Installation

While not the most DIY-friendly option we've reviewed, the faucet offers a simple installation process with minimal components that are easy to access. It would have been a nice touch if the company included a screwdriver, but fortunately, it's a common tool.
