Delta Essa Touch2O Kitchen Faucet Review
Overall Verdict
With a wide range of utility, the Delta Faucet Essa 9113T-DST has always been an interesting choice for homes. In addition to featuring a far-reaching sprayer and a 360-degree swiveling spout, the pulldown kitchen faucet also includes touch control, LED hot/warm/cold indication, and magnetic docking. And it’s not too expensive, considering the span of the market.
Certain details could be improved—the water function button, with its awkward design, immediately comes to mind. The sensitivity of Delta’s touch control Touch2O is also an issue, though minor. All in all, the Essa 9113T-DST is undoubtedly a well-made and worth-while faucet.
Things We Like
- Magnetic docking
- 360-degree swivel
- Easy to clean
- Touch control (Touch2O)
- LED temperature indicator
Things We Don’t Like
- Touch control requires getting-used-to
- Numbers of components
As far as Delta’s kitchen faucets go, the Essa is not yet their best product. However, what it’s best for is mid-range budgets with a need for handsfree control and temperature indicator. Boasting a sleek look and high-quality construction, the faucet is said to serve well even without this version’s touch control, already enjoying an extendable sprayer and secure docking.
5.0 Performance
The Essa or any faucet of the same tier doesn’t work well with low water pressure. Water will drip more than it sprays. If you are looking for something that could work with low pressure, there are more suitable options, such as the Kraus Bolden or the Wewe A1001L.
5.0 Low Pressure Test
The Essa is about as effective as the Delta Faucet Lenta, which is not surprising, or the Moen Arbor. From what we know, faucets from these well-known brands are mostly optimized for standard water pressures, which is usually from 50 to 70 psi
8.8 Design
The Delta Faucet Essa Kitchen Faucet features many useful tools. Aside from touch control and LED temperature indicator, the long-reach sprayer and the 360-degree swiveling body adds much freedom to the spout’s movement. You can tell that the faucet is well-made from holding and touching it, and the quality difference is especially prominent when compared to cheaper spouts.
Additionally, the magnetic docking mechanism, which tightly secures the sprayer head and the body, produces the sleekest design we’ve seen on any pulldown faucets.
In the Box
- Delta Faucet Essa 9113T-DST
- User manual
- Mounting accessories
- Electronic accessories
Despite the fact that Delta Faucet packages the components neatly, you’re going to have a hard time here if you’re not a technical person. Reading the user manual is highly advised to properly understand which goes where, especially the electronics in the mix. There are also a shaft wrench, an aerator wrench, and check valves.
9.0 Body Design
The faucet has a smooth, 360-degree rotating full body, which we prefer over the spring-neck spouts because of how easy it is to clean. Although there’s nothing special about the Essa’s design, its symmetrical and inconspicuous appearance blends easily with a variety of interior styles. The faucet also comes in various finishes, including Chrome, Bronze, Stainless, and Matte Black.
8.0 Sprayer Design
The Essa features a good sprayer with reasonable quality. It’s not the best or most usable we’ve tested, but as far as pull-down faucets go, it's sufficiently effective. When the sprayer is attached to the body, the magnetic docking secures it in place, even when you’re swiveling the spout.
The buttons have clear embossed symbols that show the two water modes, which is helpful since the faucet doesn’t have a default mode. The biggest flaw of the Essa’s sprayer is its button design, which is counter-intuitive in our opinion.
9.0 Build Quality
The Essa from Delta Faucet is a cost-effective and well-built product. Its reassuring weight confirms the quality of the thick body wall. The faucet would have received a perfect score from us if the touch control and the handle were slightly better. If you’ve never tried Touch2O technology before, it might be a bit frustrating in the beginning because of its sensitivity threshold.
One thing we noticed was how the faucet’s shank had become slightly looser compared to when we first had it. Admittedly, this is most likely due to our examining process, which involves frequent removing and reinstalling.

8.3 Usability
With features like an LED temperature indicator and touch control, the Essa kitchen faucet offers a wide range of utility, making it a strong choice if you want functionality. Its versatile control and extended pull-down sprayer makes it undeniably useful to any kitchen. The Touch2O operation may initially feel confusing, but it becomes easier as you adjust to its sensitivity
7.8 Sprayer
The sprayer has a good reach that should work with most standard kitchen sinks. The absence of a ball joint doesn’t hinder the sprayer’s flexibility, thanks to the high-quality water hose, and the magnetic docking feature positively impacts our overall impression, as well. However, we’d prefer more weight added to the sprayer’s retraction.
9.0 Control
Delta Faucet’s Touch2O technology is a solid enhancement. Although the sensitivity can feel strange at first, it later opens up more ways to interact around the sink once familiarity sets in. There’s an auto-shutoff feature that prevents accidental activation and the sorts. Manual control can be completely separated from touch control should there be anything wrong with the power source. Removing the solenoid assembly and connecting the main water hose directly will turn the faucet into its basic version.
8.0 Installation
Compared to the dozen other kitchen faucets in our lab, the Delta Essa Touch2O isn’t the most DIY-friendly. The numerous parts, including electronic components, can be overwhelming if you’re not particularly familiar with handy work. Yet, the process quickly becomes transparent once you’re willing to see it through and figure out ways around this and that. Also, the faucet’s 360-degree swivel allows for flexibility in setting the handle’s direction.
