Best Commercial Juicers in 2024 Buyer’s Guide & Reviews
Finding a properly certified commercial juicer for your establishment or small business can be a tedious affair. If, however, you know exactly what type of juice extractor is best for your needs, and the product certifications required to legally operate the machine, it becomes a little easier. To ensure that our selection of the best commercial juicers in 2024 meet such requirements, we have carefully checked product descriptions, certification marks, read warranties, visited product websites and have communicated with the manufacturers.
What Is a Commercial Juice Extractor?
The simplest answer is a machine that carries commercial certifications that meet your local regulatory guidelines. A commercial juicer needs to meet higher health and safety standards, have better durability, and be able to handle higher juicing volume than a typical home juicer extractor.
Some extractors may be marketed as ‘commercial’ or ‘commercial grade’, but often don’t have proper certifications. Others are just labeled ‘heavy duty’. While these products may handle higher volume and have above average durability, they aren’t strictly speaking commercial juice extractors, so they are excluded from our reviews. How Do I Check for Commercial Certifications? To know whether your potential purchase is actually certified for commercial use, check the product description as it often mentions this directly. Look for certification marks on products and manuals, and check to see if your product comes with a proper commercial warranty or warranty limitations. If these are not easily accessible on a distributor’s website, you can always check the actual product website. As a last resort, you may have to contact the manufacturer directly.

Types of Certification
Here is a brief overview of the certifications you might need. To be on the safe side, always check with local authorities what your regulations are. Generally, products sold in the US for commercial use, should have one certification such as NSF or UL. Having NSF and Intertek ETL or UL is the ideal your juice extractor.
NSF
NSF stands for National Sanitary Foundation and is the major certification for health, cleanliness, and food safety requirements. Initially, it was developed for the regulation of soda fountains and cafeterias. NSF Food Safety also certifies foodservice equipment, nonfood compounds, and bottled beverages.
ETL, UL, and CE
These three certifications are for safety standards of electronic equipment. ETL stands for Electronic Testing Lab, and was originally set-up by Thomas Edison. Now known as Intertek ETL, the ETL Mark is proof of product compliance to North American electrical safety standards.
UL stands for Underwriters Laboratories, and their certification is more aligned to global standards. Products imported into North America for sale must be UL certified. UL is similar to CE (Conformity European), which is the main regulatory body for the EU—but CE alone does not qualify as fully certified in the US.
RoHS
RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS originated in and applies more to the European Union. It restricts the use of specific hazardous materials found in electronic products, and also helps with proper recycling.
Why Invest In a Commercial Juicer?
- The obvious answer is not to fall foul of the law. It’s probably best not to risk your business being shut down, or you being landed with a fine.
- Although much pricier, a commercial juicer is also a wise investment for the longer term. They are safer for the workplace, will meet capacity needs more easily, as well as producing better tasting and healthier juice.
Home users: Make sure to check that the warranty explicitly mentions home-use if you’re buying a commercial grade machine. If not, the warranty is invalidated. Also, be aware that operating commercial equipment in a home may also violate homeowner’s insurance.
The Different Types of Commercial Juicers
Juicers or extractors, be they for commercial or home use, can easily be sorted into four convenient categories:
- Centrifugal
- Masticating
- Triturating
- Citrus
Which juicer is best for you depends on your juicing turnover, type of produce, quality you wish to deliver, and the size of your budget. Having more than one type of juicer could add to the productivity of your workspace.
For a more detailed look at the mechanics of different types of juice extractors, feel free to preview one of our other articles: Differences Between Three Types of Juicers: Centrifugal vs Masticating vs And Twin-Gear.
Centrifugal Juicers
These are the most affordable juicers, producing the highest volume at the fastest rate. The produce is forced onto a flat cutting blade at the bottom which rotates at a very high speed. The centrifugal spinning force then separates the juice from the pulp. Commercial grade machines often have an additional pulp ejection tube that can be run into a large, under-the-counter waste container.
The drawbacks are they’re noisier, more difficult to clean and tests have proven that the nutrient density is reduced due to heat and oxidation. They also don’t do so well with leafy greens and soft pulpy fruits, and some juice volume is wasted.
Centrifugal Juicers Are Best For: Harder vegetables and fruits such as carrots, apples, hard peaches, cabbage and celery, to name a few. They’re more suited for fast-paced juice bars, busy kitchens or places where noise is not such an issue.
Masticating or Slow Juicers
To masticate means to chew. These extractors, as the name suggests, don’t force produce through a rotating blade, but rather pulverize it with an auger. This breaks down the cellular walls releasing the juice, and then the pulp is separated. For continuous juicing there will be an automatic pulp ejector.
This is a much slower process, hence ‘slow juicer’, but the quality of the juice is much better. Nutritional content is higher because oxidation is less, and shelf life is also longer. The downside is they require more preparation and cutting time depending on the size of the feed chute.
Slow Masticating Juicers Are Best For: Leafy greens like spinach, lettuce, kale and especially wheatgrass, as well as soft, pulpy fruits and tomatoes. They are more suited to smaller turnover and establishments focused on quality over quantity. They may suit slow cafes, sports clubs, health bars or smaller restaurants.
Triturating Juicers
Triturating juicers, or twin gears, are a subclass of slow masticating juicers. Unlike the simple slow masticator with one auger, these have two twin, horizontal gears located very close to each other. Produce is ground into a pulp as the juice is separated. These juicers are more heavy-duty and operate at slightly higher speeds resulting in better quality juice which is less susceptible to oxidation.
Twin gears can also do leafy greens but not in large quantities. Where they differ from one auger masticating extractors is that they do better with harder textures, but not so well with soft and watery fruits. They produce a better quality juice to the kinds of produce you’d put through a centrifugal juicer. The added value of these machines is that they can double up as grinders or food processors to make nut pastes, pattes and even noodles.
Triturating Juicers Are Best For:Hard fruits and vegetables, limited amounts of leafy greens, grinding nut pastes and making noodles. They may suit health stores, slow cafes, small restaurants and any establishment focused on quality rather than quantity.
Citrus Juicers
Citrus juice extractors basically come in four varieties:
Simple handheld squeezers which squeeze one half of a lime or lemon at a time. These just amplify the force exerted and are more sanitary with less hand contact to the fruit. They may have a reamer or just two pincers. These are handy for food preparations in a kitchen or for drinks in a cocktail bar. These can easily be bought for less than $30 or even below $20.
The second type is the standing hand press. It has a heavy, sturdy base with a hand operated level to squeeze half a fruit which is cut and placed on a stationary reamer. These are much cheaper than mechanized squeezers and are good for extracting glasses of juice at a low to medium capacity demand. The juice quality is quite good with less bitterness from skin rind. They can also juice small grapefruits and pomegranates. These machines can easily be got below $50.
The third type are electronic squeezers that operate a revolving reamer. These still require manual preparation, but you can extract enough volume for a medium sized to slightly bigger establishment. They sit well on bar or cafe countertop and can be used in kitchens as well. Commercially certified machines generally cost at least $200 or more.
The fourth type are heavy duty, fully-automated machines that can vary quite a lot in size and capacity. They are more suited to high turnover establishments such as hotels or businesses that are selling fresh bottled juice. Smaller machines can also fit onto cafe counters, and others also have customer self-service capability. These machines can range from $500 to a couple of thousand dollars depending on the size and manufacturing quality.
Review of The Best Commercial Juicers in 2024
Our selection includes two centrifugal juicers and our top recommendations for other categories of commercial juicers.
Here are our picks for the best commercial juicers:
1. Best Overall: Nutrifaster N450 Commercial Juicer
- NSF and UL certified
- High volume and speed
- Wide feed and ejector chutes
- Cutter as well as shredder blade
- Noisy when starting off
- Assembly and cleaning takes time
Performance and Reliability
The Nutrifaster N450 is a centrifugal juicer with a solid, professional look and an all-stainless-steel design. It has been on the market for a long time, and is a well established and trusted juicer in many commercial operations.
It can run continuously for 45 minutes before requiring shutdown to cool off for 15 minutes. It will produce a quart (¼ gallon) per minute depending on the produce, and the automatic pulp ejector allows for continuous juicing at a fast pace.
Design and Versatility
It comes with two types of blades, namely a 16-blade cutter and a shredder. The 16‒blade cutter on the cutter plate should be resharpened every 2‒4 months under regular use. This service is provided by Nutrifaster if you call their 1‒800 number or contact the distribution agent.
All metal parts are made from surgical grade stainless steel. This includes the wastebasket which is designed to catch smaller pieces of pulp. Only the 18 inch discharge chute tube is made of plastic. Although easy to use, assembly and disassembly, as well as cleaning, can take some 20 minutes or more.
User Feedback and Assurances
Many users appreciate that the juice is pulp free. While it does leafy greens better than non-commercial centrifugals, it’s best not to do too much, especially kale because it can clog-up the strainer. If you can, mix greens with more watery textures.
The warranty covers one year on parts and 90 days on labor. A very comprehensive instruction manual is also included covering tips on juicing and troubleshooting.

Motor Design
A key design feature of this Hamilton Beach is its brushless, induction motor coupled with a dual fan system. This enables high volume juicing, shorter resting periods, and better product durability.
Three Safety Features
Apart from a high performance motor, it also has an automatic overheating protection system. There are two other additional safety features. One is a safety lid that cannot be removed until the blade stops. The other is the touch operating buttons which are sealed, waterproof and easy to wipe off.
Feed Chute and Pulp Bin
The feed chute is quite reachable at 25.1 inches from the standing surface, and can easily take a medium-sized 3-inch apple (chute: 76 mm). An additional 2.5 inch chute lid is also available. It has a 3 gallon (1 liter) chute bin that sits at the back for collecting waste, but this can be removed for an attachable chute to empty into any bin underneath.
Hamilton Beach vs Nutrifaster
There are several differences worth considering between these two centrifugal models. Compared to the Nutrifaster, the Hamilton Beach is more convenient for seating on a counter and moving around. On the other hand, the Hamilton only has one blade, is less versatile, and not as heavy-duty.
In addition, all the Nutrifaster parts are stainless steel and more durable compared to some plastic parts used in the Hamilton model. However, the Hamilton is much easier to take apart and reassemble. Another useful feature of the Hamilton is the juice spout which rotates a full 360 degrees.
Assurances
All plastic parts of this machine are PBA free, however, the strainer and juice bowl are stainless steel. It comes with a standard two year warranty.

- Good for wheatgrass
- 3 different types of strainers
- Two feed chutes
- Cleaning easy and efficient
- 10 year motor warranty

Motor and Auger Grinder
The upside of slow juicers, apart from better quality juice, is that they are also quiet. This Vitalisci has a relatively quiet 300 watt motor and the reverse function maxes out at about 40 dB. The single auger speed is 40 RPM which is considered the best for minimum oxidation of the juice.
Versatile Adaptations
There are three strainers: a fine one for purer juice; a coarse one for pulpy produce, and an ice cream strainer as well. The feeding chute is 3.15 inches wide so not much cutting is necessary. There is also a 1.8 inch opening for longer types of stalk foods or wheatgrass. This machine is also an excellent wheatgrass juicer.
The Vitalisci also features a pre-cleaning function where you close the juice outlet cap, then pour water into the juicer, and press on the working or reverse button to clean. Assembly is fairly straightforward as well.
Assurances
All working parts are made of high-quality, Tritan food grade anti-oxidation materials. Plastic parts are BPA free. It comes with a 10-year warranty for the motor and 2 years for other parts. 4. Best Triturating: Tribest GreenStar Pro Cold Press
- NSF and CE certified
- High-quality yield
- Easy assembly and cleaning
- 3-year warranty
- Longer preparation time
- Not good on high volume demand
- Not suited to soft textures or wheatgrass
High-grade Engineering
The gears on this machine are pure stainless steel with embedded magnetic and bio-ceramic technology. This produces longer-lasting juice due to reduced heat and oxidation. Triturating juicers are design to deliver the best possible juice quality.
This machine deploys a unique three-phase extraction system: crashing, mixing and extracting. The mixing produces makes this machine a lot better at handling soft fruits and there’s a special soft fruit outlet adjustment knob.
This Tribestar also has an automatic mechanism where dry pulp pushes against a tension spring, and is ejected out. As a result, the pulp volume is quite compact and pretty dry. The outlet knob has grip-ridges to turn and manually control the pressure, although some users had issues with its ease of use.
Preparation and Running Time
On the downside, a lot of preparation time is needed because of the smaller two inch feed chute. While it can run for 30 minutes continuously before needing to cool down, some commercial users felt it did not really measure up to high demand, but it’s difficult to find any slow juicer that does. As a single machine, it’s obviously more suited for slow cafés, health bars, health stores and smaller types of operations.
Versatile and Easy to Use
The assembly process is pretty simple using dots to triangulate and perfectly align the parts, and the passageways of parts are fairly wide and easy to clean out. It also has a reverse function to prevent jamming. This Tribest can also be used to make baby foods, breadsticks, nut butters, pâtés, and frozen fruit sorbets—so if you can use these functions, it helps to recuperate the investment costs.
Assurances
All internal plastic parts are BPA free, and it comes with a 5 year warranty for all machine parts, but you must make sure to fill in the warranty registration sheet included in the package—within 10-days of purchase.

5. Best Citrus: Jupiter XL Commercial Citrus Juicer
- Suction caps could be longer lasting
- Not so good for large sized fruits
- Base suction cups lack quality
- Not suitable for uneven surfaces
- Not so good for large sized fruits
Base and Stability
This hand press is easy to operate, but needs a stable surface. For maximum safety and stability it has a wide, cast iron base (9.25 in x 7.38 in) with rubber suction cups. Most users are impressed with the overall stability, but the suction cups tend to wear down sooner than expected.
Lever and Height
The press lever measures 31 inches in the upright position, and standard counter height is around 36 inches. Therefore, the maximum height will be about 68 inches or 172 cm, so it is manageable for an average adult height of 5 foot 7 inches or 175 cm.
The front handles and lever have sure-rubber grips which prevent slipping and the mechanism uses a 3-pinion gear design which exerts maximum pressure with minimal effort. The only two removable parts are the perforated strainer cone and funnel cup, both of which are easy to remove and clean. The enamel paint coating is also resistant to citric acid.
It comes in two colors- white and a more stylish black.
It does well with oranges, grapefruits, lemons, and limes, but less so with large sizes. An advantage with a hand-press is that the juice is sweeter as there is no bitter residue from skin oil as with a motorized press. Also, the hand-press does an excellent job of flattening pulp and creating a smoother juice.

Brand Reputation
If you don’t need a gym workout while juicing your oranges, we recommend you go with this electric citrus press by Hamilton Beach. Hamilton Beach has an excellent reputation for their high quality, well-designed products. They have a website dedicated to their commercial products which are all fully certified. The model reviewed here has just been released and is an update of their previous 96000 model (go here to read the reviews of the previous model).
Upgrades and Design
The upgrades are all internal with an improved motor-design using a brushless, virtually silent, induction motor. The downside of the previous motor was its thrust which required some skill and practice in handling. Hopefully, this newer model has addressed the issue.
This machine is 18.5 inches tall and 10.25 inches and its unique crescent-shape design also takes up minimal counter space. The juice spout is 8.5 inches above the base and comes with a splash guard to accommodate large glasses and pitchers.
There are three juice reamers to fit different sizes of oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruits. These are all plastic coated with reinforced stainless steel inside, and reviews of the previous model say they hold up well to heavy-duty, daily usage. The coating on the cast aluminum base is also acid resistant.
