Overall Verdict

The Waste King L3200 3/4 HP is understandably at least a quarter-size smaller than the L-8000 1 HP model, but the performance difference is not quite what one would expect. The medium strength components of the grind chamber of the L3200 make it unable to deal with fish scraps effectively, while the the L-8000 is the far better choice here. 

Conversely, the L3200 does  a good job with raw chicken scraps, which is the specific weak point  of the L-8000. Since there is not much of a price difference between the two, it really depends on what kind of waste you need to process and whether your under-the-sink setup is limited in terms of available space.
