Overall Verdict

Deciding between the Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP and the InSinkErator Evolution Compact 3/4 HP because they both offer excellent values. On one hand, the Moen Host GXS75C scores higher in terms of grinding capabilities and power efficiency; on the other hand, InSinkErator Evolution Compact is one of the smoothest models on the market while being not so bad a grinder itself.

To be more specific, according to the results from performance testing, the Evolution Compact ranks 6th out of 20 different units. Even though the disposal isn’t in the top 5, delivering consistently quality output tests after tests while showing us the effectiveness of its noise/vibration damping feature definitely earned a recommendation from us. Aside from that, the in-sink grinder is beloved among enthusiasts for its quality and long-lasting build.

The Moen GXS75C Host was a surprise because we didn’t expect it to yield such impressive results. To give you some idea of how good the disposal is, not only is it the better-performing grinder in this matchup, it also outperformed its 1-horsepower sibling—the GX100C. In terms of noise, however, the Moen GXS75C’s soundproofing feature can’t compete with that of the Evolution Compact.

Choosing between the two disposals ultimately comes down to whether or not you value a quiet kitchen. The Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP, despite being a little loud against certain foods, is a highly-capable garbage disposal with quality control from a reputable brand. The InSinkErator Evolution Compact may be a little less aggressive but is noticeably quieter in comparison.
