Overall Verdict

The Moen GXS75C 3/4 HP, on the one hand, is easily the best Moen garbage disposal at the moment. Not only does it perform well, it doesn’t cost much. The GE Disposall Green 1/2 HP, on the other hand, is a very nice unit with impressive grinding capability and roughly the same price. However, the Moen GXS75C outscored the GE Disposall Green across categories in performance evaluation.

In our tests, both garbage disposals did well against common food scraps, including discards from produce, fruit peels, avocado pits, and even cooked fish bones. When we take a closer look at the individual data, it’s obvious that the GXS75C is the better-performing model in terms of finesse, broadly speaking. While the Disposall Green was not bad itself, it simply wasn’t able to yield as fine output.

When it came to raw meat scraps, everything slowed down a little for both of them. The GXS75C did indeed outperform the Disposall Green here, but the difference was insignificant and they're equally unfit to produce drain-safe output from raw chicken bones or fish bones.

The Moen GXS75C and the GE Disposall Green are similar in several ways, but also different. They run on permanent magnet motors and their chamber designs are identical. But the GXS75C uses galvanized steel instead of stainless steel like the Disposall Green.

Ultimately, we think the Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP deserves the win in this showdown because not only did it give us better performance results, it’s listed as cheaper than the GE Disposall Green 1/2 HP. Additionally, Moen offers a 10-year warranty for the GXS75C, as opposed to the 3-year period from GE.
