Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP vs Moen 1/2-HP Garbage Disposal Side-by-Side Comparison

Overall Verdict
Side by side, these two Moen disposals are exactly the same in dimension. The Moen Prep GX50C, however, is a 1/2 HP unit, so understandably a fair bit cheaper. For a 1/2 HP motor, the grind chamber is the same size as the Moen Host GXS75C, so you get good volume for the price. Other than that, the build quality of these disposals is pretty much the same.
The main difference is understandably performance. Although we didn’t expect the Prep GX50C to perform that well with raw fish and chicken scraps, it was a disappointment in the mixed scraps department, but reasonable enough with chicken scraps alone. All considered, if paying 30 dollars extra is not an issue, you’d be better off with the ¾ HP Moen Host GXS75C.
