Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP vs InSinkErator Evolution Essential XTR Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
The Moen Host GXS75C and InSinkErator Evolution Essential XTR are two neck-to-neck excellent value 3/4 HP garbage disposal systems. There are, however, a number of key differences between these two, so you would need to choose carefully, and with good consideration.
The InkSinkErator could be considered a ‘rare specialist’ because it deals excellently with both raw fish and raw chicken scraps. Mixed scraps, however, produced a sogginess that it does not handle well. On the other hand, the Moen is one of the best disposals we have tested for mixed scraps. The Moen also handles raw chicken scraps well, but if you want a good all-rounder that is excellent with raw fish scraps, the InSinkErator is a good choice.
However, the InSinkErator is quite large and heavy for a 3/4 HP; it’s some 9.8 lbs more than the Moen, so it may not suit older sinks or sinks with weak connections. The installation is also more difficult to work with, especially in small areas, so you may need a little more DIY skill than average to handle it.
