Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP vs InSinkErator Badger 5XP Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
Both the Moen Host GXS75C disposal and the InSinkErator Badger 5XP have ¾ HP motors. The difference is that the InSinkErator uses a less capable induction motor which partly explains its poor performance. For one, the Badger couldn’t handle raw fish scraps to any degree, while mixed scraps and raw chicken waste was barely acceptable.
The Moen, by comparison , is one of the best disposals for mixed scraps and it deals reasonably well with raw fish and chicken scraps. All considered, with the Badger 5XP actually costing more than the Moen, there seems little reason to even consider the Badger as a serious competitor. It is not so much the build quality and its durability that is an issue with the Badger 5XP, but more so the narrow grind chamber.
