Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP vs InSinkerator Badger 5 Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
The InSinkErator Badger 5 is a pretty compact disposal unit with a 1/2 Hp induction motor. However, the Badger 5 failed to accomplish much in any of our benchmark tests. Furthermore, with the Moen Host GXS75C 3/4-HP being less than 30 dollars more on the price, there is not much reason to even consider the Badger 5. Even tougher produce like lemon peels were not completely processed, with extra time given!
If you have a household that only needs to process vegetable waste or limited cooked scrap leftovers, the Badger 5 may work for you. However, even with its reasonably good build quality, there are better grinders for the price and size. The Moen Host GXS75C did prove itself one of the best disposals for mixed scraps and it deals with raw chicken and fish scraps reasonably well.
