Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP vs InSinkErator Badger 1HP Garbage Disposal Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
The Moen Host GXS75C 3/4-HP and the InSinkErator Badger 1HP are two similarly-sized units. The Badger may have the more powerful motor, but the Moen is really the one you want. Despite 1 HP of induction motor juice, the Badger just couldn’t grind down the waste the way we anticipated. Although mediocre with scrap mix, it did a fairly decent job with chicken bone waste. Although the Moen is one of the best disposals we have tested for scrap mix, it struggled with raw fish scraps.
Performance aside, the Moen not surprisingly has the better motor assembly and unit build quality. Its water splash guard, or rinse assist baffle, is also a very useful feature. However, the InSinkErator does have its merits; its larger chamber and slower grind is quite effective in a kitchen with mostly vegetable waste.
