Moen GXS75C Host Series 3/4 HP vs AmazonCommercial 1/2 HP Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
The Amazon Commercial is a little more compact due to its width and slightly smaller grinding chamber compared to the Moen Host GXS75C. However, it’s a 1/2 HP disposal whereas the Moen has a 3/4 HP motor. The Amazon is considerably cheaper with a poorer build quality, but it does have a permanent magnetic motor. It did fairly well with scrap mix, and processed raw chicken scraps as well as the Moen, but the motor and blade design just couldn’t deal in any way with raw fish scraps.
The Moen is understandably the better garbage disposal here, but the Amazon is a quarter of the price less. The Amazon also does a pretty good job for what you pay, but we worried about its longevity and whether the plastic casing would hold things together. If you need a basic disposal for the short term, its EZ mount system is also a bonus, but if you are already using a 3-bolt system, it may be an inconvenience.
