Moen GX100C 1 HP Garbage Disposal vs Moen 1/2-HP Garbage Disposal Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
Apart from the obvious size difference with the Moen GX100C being a 1 HP disposal, the smaller Moen 1/2 HP did prove to have performance advantages. The Moen 1/2 HP disposal was actually better at specialized operations like processing exclusively raw fish or chicken scraps. The Moen 1 HP, however, proved far superior when dealing with large amounts of general waste or mixed scraps.
Build quality and usability are much the same between these two Moen disposals, except that the Moen 1 HP is quite heavy so you may need help with the installation. Both use a 3-bolt installation and durable stainless steel for the grinder components.
