Moen GX100C 1 HP Garbage Disposal vs InSinkErator Badger 5XP Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
The InSinkErator Badger 5XP is a slightly smaller 3/4 HP waste disposal. Similar to the larger 1 HP Badger, the 5XP failed to impress in much the same way. The low rotation speed of its induction motor coupled with a rather basic grind mechanism made of lower quality galvanized steel didn’t quite measure up.
The Badger 5XP was below par with processing mixed scraps, and dud at raw fish waste, but like the Badger 1 HP, it excelled with chicken bones when compared to the Moen GX100C. The Moen deals effectively with all types of waste, thanks to its more complex grind mechanism made from stainless steel, which makes it the obvious choice.
