Moen GX100C 1 HP Garbage Disposal vs InSinkerator Badger 5 Side-by-Side Comparison

Overall Verdict
Cutting to the chase, the InSinkErator Badger 5 is a garbage disposal that just doesn’t do the job. In our standard test of mixed scraps, it failed to properly grind down organic matter. For specialized jobs of just raw chicken or fish parts, it failed to accomplish much. The Moen, meanwhile, can deal with all types of waste, but it is still a pretty average performer.
The grind chamber of the Badger 5 seems to be at fault lacking sufficient vertical reach. It also uses an induction motor compared to the permanent magnetic motor of the Moen, and the grinding components are made of a less durable galvanized steel. Both units use a 3-bolt installation.
