Moen GX100C 1 HP Garbage Disposal vs GE GFC525N 1/2-HP Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
There are a number of key design differences between the Moen GX100C and the GE GFC525N. Both use a permanent magnetic motor. However, even though the GE has a comparatively basic grinder configuration using less durable galvanized steel, there is little performance difference between these two disposals.
Overall, the GE actually proved to be the better disposal, especially when dealing with raw chicken and fish scraps. The only advantage of the Moen is that it can process larger volumes at a time, especially for mixed scraps. For the GE, scraps should be smaller chunks and pieces not too long. If you don’t have a high demand for waste processing, the GE is the better and more affordable choice.
