InSinkErator Evolution Essential XTR vs Moen GX100C 1 HP Garbage Disposal Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
If you’re interested in an InSinkErator garbage disposal, you should stick to the Evolution series. This Evolution Essential XTR 3/4 HP, with its enhanced grinding mechanism, easily outperformed the reasonably good Moen GX100C. It’s at least 2 lbs heavier than the Moen, but the grind chamber volume is much the same.
Although both disposals dealt equally well with mixed scraps, the Evolution Essential excelled with especially raw fish scraps, but also chicken waste with bones and cartilage. The InSinkErator is considerably more expensive than the Moen, so if all you need to do is process general waste, or mixed scraps, the Moen would be the more affordable option.
