Overall Verdict

The difference between the 1 HP Waste King L-800 and the GE GFC1020N 1 HP garbage disposals is really a question of price, since the two machines are similar. Both use an EZ mount installation, have a similar high build quality, and their grind chambers hold 30 fl. 0z. 

There is however, a noticeable performance difference. The Waste King deals slightly faster and better with mixed scrap waste. On the other hand, the GE is marginally better at raw fish scraps. The Waste King, due its grind chamber design, does not deal well with raw chicken bones and slippery cartilage.  The GE does have a slightly better build quality and finish, but depending what you need to grind, you could save a fair bit of money with the Waste King.
