Through our testing, the GE GFC720N arises as one of the best 3/4-HP garbage disposals. It boasts a strong permanent magnet motor that offers enough power to handle most common kitchen scraps, including cooked chicken bones. The fast-paced motor also helps reduce the risk of jamming even when the chamber is filled.

In comparison, the InSinkErator Badger 5XP isn’t as capable. Its grinding capabilities are limited to easy vegetables and fruits and it operates at a much slower rate, making it prone to jamming. Luckily, the motor should have enough torque to break free.
