BELLA Electric Skillet 14607 vs Presto Electric Skillet 06852 Side-by-Side Comparison
Overall Verdict
For those needing a larger skillet with good temperature retention and easy cleaning, the Presto Electric Skillet 06852 is worth the higher price, while the Bella Non-Stick Electric Skillet 14607 remains a strong medium-sized contender for more budget-conscious buyers.
The Bella is particularly effective for searing steaks, offering great heat distribution and fast heating times. Unfortunately, it performs averagely with delicate foods like pancakes.
The Presto, on the other hand, maintains good maximum temperature retention and exhibits excellent temperature stability. This makes it ideal for tasks like searing steaks, with a slightly faster searing time than the Bella. However, its heat distribution is marginally less even, resulting in less consistent pancake coloration.
While we would have preferred a ceramic coating like that of the Bella, the Teflon surface of the Presto performed well. However, the Bella’s coating has a tendency to chip and its difficulty in removing stubborn burn-ons are significant drawbacks. On the other hand, the Presto skillet lacks anti-slip pads, causing the pan to move around too much during cooking, which can be inconvenient and potentially hazardous.
