Motor

Both Blendtec and Vitamix blenders come with much more powerful motors as compared to typical kitchen blenders. A standard Blendtec blender series draws more power at 13 amps/1560 W and 3 peak horsepower motor relative to standard Vitamix blenders drawing 11.5 amps/1380 W and 2 peak horsepower motor.

Blades

When reviewing blender blades, it’s important to consider the thickness, strength, and quality of the material. Both brands use the same blade material: stainless steel. However, Blendtec differs with Vitamix on the design of the blades. Blendtec series have 2-prong, dull blades, and Vitamix series have 4-prong blades, 2 cutting blades, and 2 dull hammermill blades.

But this doesn’t mean Vitamix’s 4-blades design is better than Blendtec’s 2-blades design. Both designs are able to pulverize any food materials without difficulty. Most, if not all, of the latest Blendtec and Vitamix containers are made of BPA-Free copolyester plastic, hence their high-quality standard. But ensure to clean them properly after every blending to remove any discolor or unwanted smells. There are containers also designed for dry food grinding.

However, Blendtec jars have serious power and jar designs that may not allow them to be operated at full capacity - two-thirds fill is the best operational mark. Vitamix jars, on the other hand, have lids and relatively less power and can be filled to the top. 
• Container Volume Markings: While both Blendtec and Vitamix jars are marked using easy measuring volume units in cups and oz, Blendtec jars are marked in black hence easy to see, unlike Vitamix jars’ clear markings that can hardly be seen.
